Peter Simlinger Prize

Peter Simlinger founded IIID in 1986 and played a key role in the development of design in Austria and internationally. Together with Willy de Majo, he made IIID an affiliate member of Icograda. As its president he changed the name of the organisation to designaustria.

Among many other pictograms he designed ISO 7001 - TF006 for buses (which can travel in both directions and his wayfinding expertise guides passengers safely within the Austrian Federal Railways (ÖBB) and through the Vienna Airport.

The prize for the project that best embodies Peter Simlinger's definition of ID across all categories will be awarded:
"Data transformed into high-quality information empowers people to attain their goals." 

Thanks to Peter's wife Vera, his family and many friends the Peter Simlinger Prize is endowed with Euro 2,500,- .

The accompying certificate will be designed by Erik Spiekermann.
