Marta Więckowska
this interview found me in:
I’m in my studio with my students, observing how they’re preparing their research plans. It’s the best moment for a teacher – seeing students fully engaged and excited about how their process will develop.
the last time I got lost in …:
…was during a macramé workshop, where I was learning a completely new technique – something very different from my professional work. It was revealing and relaxing, yet required so much focus on every little knot that I couldn’t stop, even when it was time for lunch!
my favourite pictogram/sign is
the pedestrian crossing sign – the light signal or road sign. It differs from country to country, revealing local identity and sometimes even a sense of humor. I love observing its details, composition, and the characteristics of the figures depicted on it.
three numbers about myself:
100% – because I always give my best to fulfill every project’s aims; 3 – because I like to have a few options, but not too many, so the selection process stays focused (and if one fails, I still have two others at hand); and 2 – because I’m a social being, and at least two people are needed for true interaction.
my preferred colour combination:
is various shades of green, as I love being in nature and observing how different plants create beautiful, harmonious compositions.
something I would like to show:
is some of my inspirations collected during my last journey to Portugal, when I love to immerse myself in the places I visit and discover the beauty hidden in simple, everyday life.
my mission in the jury:
is to look for fresh, unconventional perspectives on design – where social values are not only expressed through visual layers but live at the very heart of the project.
